About the role

In this capacity, the Supervising Psychiatrist assures compliance with Federal and State laws, Administrative Rules, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSH policies, and professional standards of practice.
This includes oversight of program-wide, unit-wide, and individual patient processes and the treatment provided.

The Supervising Psychiatrist leads, supports, and coordinates the activities of subordinate psychiatric physicians and nurse practitioners at the Oregon State Hospital, and may serve as a primary physician on a unit when resource needs require.
The Supervising Psychiatrist is also a member of the program executive team, and collaborates with associate chiefs in other clinical disciplines, as well as the program director, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of clinical processes within the program.

These qualifications must be reflected in your application for consideration.
3 years minimum experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Advanced knowledge of psychiatric care, including forensic and complex clinical cases, with the ability to provide high-level consultation and direct treatment when needed.
Experience balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities, program planning, policy implementation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Experience thriving in a dynamic hospital setting, embracing clinical challenges, and utilizing collaborative problem-solving techniques to address barriers to patient care and staff development.
Experience leading risk management initiatives and structured pathways for forensic patients, including transition planning and community reintegration.
