Tessera is seeking a n experienced and detailed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (EVT III) with a positiv e attitude.

Perform maintenance of equipment to include, but not limited to, Aircraft Rescue & Fire-Fighting (ARFF) vehicles, Fire Apparatus vehicles, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment.
Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals and IAW National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
Perform inspection and repair on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering systems IAW with OEM recommendations and NFPA standards.
Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of assemblies and installation of components.
Maintain Operational Vehicle Maintenance schedules.
Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
Minimum of five (5) years of vehicle maintenance experience required.
ASE (T-1 through T-7, and L-2) certification or the ability to obtain one required.
EVT (F-1 through F-6 and A-1 through A-3) Level III Fire Apparatus and ARFF vehicle technician certification or the ability to obtain one required.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services.
