Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, including children, geriatrics, and those with developmental disabilities.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including psychopharmacology treatments such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers, ensuring safe administration and monitoring.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or outpatient clinics.
Requirements
- Master's (Required)
- board certification as a PMHNP (Required)
- active & unencumbered Advanced Practice RN license (Required)
- DEA license (or be able to obtain one) (Required)
Skills
- Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for comprehensive medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management strategies.
- Competence in performing procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, venipuncture, catheterization, or sterile processing when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching hospital environments or telehealth platforms
- ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Graduate from an accredited PMHNP program at the master's or higher degree level.
- Possess appropriate board certification as a PMHNP.
- Preferred Requirements
- One year or more of PMHNP experience. Outpatient experience.
- One year or more of PMHNP experience.
- Outpatient experience.
