Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, including children, geriatrics, and those with developmental disabilities.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, including psychopharmacology treatments such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers, ensuring safe administration and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or outpatient clinics.

Requirements

  • Master's (Required)
  • board certification as a PMHNP (Required)
  • active & unencumbered Advanced Practice RN license (Required)
  • DEA license (or be able to obtain one) (Required)

Skills

  • Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for comprehensive medical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management strategies.
  • Competence in performing procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, venipuncture, catheterization, or sterile processing when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills for teaching hospital environments or telehealth platforms
  • ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Graduate from an accredited PMHNP program at the master's or higher degree level.
  • Possess appropriate board certification as a PMHNP.
  • Preferred Requirements
  • One year or more of PMHNP experience. Outpatient experience.
  • One year or more of PMHNP experience.
  • Outpatient experience.
