About the role
- Senior level accounting professional responsible for financial statement preparation, journal entries, financial reporting and consolidation.
- Interaction with internal and external auditors as well as corporate staff at all levels.
- Involved in completing monthly closing procedures, preparing account balance sheet reconciliations and analysis for company.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with corporate staff to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Provides support to financial staff with issues related to financial reporting.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial systems, controls and reporting.
- Identify and help implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting.
Nice to have
- Prepares and reviews complex monthly financial statements and reports at both the local level and the corporate level.
- Assist in monthly close process including journal entry preparation and complex reconciliations related to various insurance-based accounts.
- Ensure that accounting records and financial statements are accurate and complete by analyzing transactions and the general ledger accounts.
- Recommend any needed reclassifications or adjustments.
- Furnishes advice on accounting matters such as classification of transactions for Balance Sheet or Income Statement presentation.
- Provides leadership and direction to team members, rather than through a direct supervisory role.
- Solve complex problems by drawing on relevant career experience and professional judgment.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.
