About the role

Responsibilities
- Maintains current knowledge of, investigates, and interprets federal, state and local safety regulations. Advises senior management based on this interpretation.
- Researches and documents SOPs and other safety related materials as needed. Researches occupational safety information to assure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the work place.
- Participates in professional activities and maintains active memberships in one or more professional associations in area of expertise or related safety, environmental and emergency management disciplines.
- Develops and conducts employee and student training programs for assigned area(s).
Skills
- Ability to become professionally certified in area(s) of responsibility.
- Ability to revise and present existing training programs.
- Ability in problem solving; recognizes and analyzes needs and assist in the development of programs to address needs.
- Judgment sufficient to recognize limits of responsibility and defer decisions to appropriate management levels/personnel.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Compensation
- $56,766 - $82,311 based on total years of related experience
