About the role

  • The Senior Cloud Engineer is a critical member of the Technology team.
  • In this role, you will work with both vendor and internal teams to oversee the smooth operation of a cloud-based application with more than a million users.
  • The Senior Cloud Engineer frequently interacts with Infrastructure, Application, and Security Operations teams to ensure the system is always healthy and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation representing the current state of application and infrastructure components deployed in Azure.
  • The Senior Cloud Engineer supports and works with the Application Operations, Architecture and Infrastructure teams to design and implement the optimal future state of the application with a focus on infrastructure.
  • Analyze the Azure cloud environment and make design recommendations to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in or lead infrastructure-related projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Skills Knowledge of allocating, configuring, and monitoring cloud-based resources, including virtual machines, storage, IaaS, PaaS, and networking components.
  • Ability to clearly communicate highly technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and protocols.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe development processes is a plus.
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications such as the AZ-204 AZ-305 or AZ-400 are a plus Bachelor's degree in in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is strongly preferred.
