About the role

  • Work is more than ordinary difficulty requiring certain techniques or special knowledge which generally are acquired through experience on the job.
  • Flexible scheduling, hours will vary based on candidate availability, department needs, and weather.

Responsibilities

  • Under immediate supervision, work duties are primarily train operation, maintenance, event support and custodial services.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • If you become a finalist for the position, your identity may be disclosed as required by law
  • Starting hourly rate for Train Operator is $14.50 year one.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving history that meets County standards.
  • Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance activities and processes preferred. Relevant vocational training or prior experience in a specific trade can be beneficial.
  • Ability to perform varied tasks to completion without immediate supervision.

Nice to have

  • Relevant vocational training or prior experience in a specific trade can be beneficial.
  • Previous experience with vehicles and equipment preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to complete written communications, reports, documents etc.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (sun, heat, humidity, rain, cold).

Compensation

  • Starting hourly rate for Train Operator is $14.50 year one. This is a seasonal position and there are no benefits.
