About the role
- We're hiring a Member of the M&A Team to source, evaluate, and help close acquisitions of businesses with $1-10M of annual EBITDA.
- This is a high-ownership role on a deliberately lean team, and you'll be involved in acquisitions from first meeting to close.
Responsibilities
- Source and build a pipeline of acquisition targets within our buy box, through proprietary outreach and our sourcing partners
- Run introductory calls with owners - build rapport, qualify fit, and represent Special as a partner of choice against traditional private equity.
- Lead due diligence end-to-end: financial analysis, business operations, customer contracts, and legal and regulatory review.
- Drive deals from initial sourcing through close, keeping momentum across owners, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- A track record sourcing, evaluating, and closing business acquisitions, ideally in the $2-10M EBITDA range.
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence.
