About the role

  • We are seeking a Junior Technology Learning & Development Specialist to join our Firm.
  • This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid).
  • Works with subject matter experts to better understand training content being developed and delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Works with TL&D team to develop and continually update documentation, videos, and LMS content.
  • Assists with identifying training needs and communicates with the Global TL&D Manager and Regional TL&D Supervisor to develop uniform global training offerings.
  • Works with colleagues to maintain and improve the standardization of Tech@Skadden offerings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates proficiency in delivering live training.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PDF software, etc.) with the ability to learn additional software and operating systems.
  • A broad knowledge of IT, telecommunications, and network systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Consistent demonstration of preparedness for presentations.
  • Understands technical aspects of Firm applications while delivering associated trainings.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Firm systems, including, but not limited to: Citrix, NetDocuments, mobile device technology and apps, Webex, Zoom, DTE Axiom, Aderant Expert Time, Emburse, Litera Change-Pro & Metadact, Power PDF, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit, Windows and macOS operating environments, Legal Technology systems and other relevant legal applications.
  • Able to adapt to different situations and is capable of covering activities ranging from basic first-line support to assisting with global projects and communications to management.
  • Able to operate independently and understand when to escalate issues.
  • Provides excellent customer service through effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.

Compensation

  • The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details.
  • Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

  • The Opportunity
  • We are seeking a Junior Technology Learning & Development Specialist to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid). Please note during training which can last up to 90 days must be on-site. The position develops and delivers live trainings for attorneys and business services professionals on Firm-supported applications. Conducts trainings via live, instructor-led sessions within Skadden offices, and leads remote sessions via video conference. Works with the TL&D team to develop training resources, including documentation, videos, and eLearning packages for the Firm's learning management system ("LMS"). Works with subject matter experts to better understand training content being developed and delivered. Works with TL&D team to develop and continually update documentation, videos, and LMS content.
  • Provides a consistent and high level of customer service.
  • Prepares, organizes, conducts, and promotes Tech@Skadden training programs.
  • Delivers supported Firm software and hardware training.
  • Assists with the development of TL&D content, including, but not limited to documentation, videos, and eLearning packages for the Firm's LMS.
  • Collaborates with the Global TL&D Manager and Regional TL&D Supervisor to ensure availability and timely access to Firm-provided programs, new training initiatives, handouts, class syllabi, etc.
  • Provides weekly Work Status Report.
  • Presents Technology Orientations to new arrivals, ensuring a professional "Day One" training experience.
  • Provides customized training in accordance with specific needs of individuals or groups.
  • Provides feedback to management and recommends further training, assessment, and follow-ups accordingly.
  • Provides global training in accordance with the needs of the Firm.
