About the role
- Common Cause (501(c)(4)) and Common Cause Education Fund (501(c)(3)) are nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots affiliate organizations dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy.
- Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Washington, DC, Common Cause has members and supporters living in every congressional district in the United States, and offices in 23 states around the country.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and facilitation of coalition meetings and events
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with community partners and members
- Collaborate with coalition partners to coordinate grassroots actions and advance campaigns
- Collaborate with other state staff to coordinate and manage projects and tasks within the election protection program
- Recruit, train, coordinate and mentor interns and volunteers to support our work
- Support our research, policy and advocacy work
- Support research and advocacy efforts on democracy issues
- Draft and coordinate resources to support public comment and testimony on key legislation
- Support fundraising and advisory board management
- Support the State Director and other staff in fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant support, and reporting for foundations and major donors
