About the role
- Assist Mohs Surgeons with surgical procedures, sterile setup, and patient preparation
- Assist with surgical closures, bandaging, suture removal, and wound care education
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions as directed by the Provider
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and procedure trays
- Maintain surgical, medication, and supply inventories and communicate ordering needs appropriately
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms
- Maintain infection control and aseptic technique standards
- Maintain active participation in clinic workflow throughout the workday
- Support efficient patient flow, room turnover, and Provider readiness while maintaining patient safety and high-quality care standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong customer service and communication skills required
- This role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical dermatology environment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain required logs
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Nice to have
- Dermatology and/or surgical assisting experience preferred, but not required
