About the role

The Structural Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of the College's structures and fixtures.
The ideal candidate is skilled in various construction and repair techniques, with a focus on both reactive and proactive maintenance.
Applies paints, stains to interior and exterior surfaces, while also performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.

Performs preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of buildings and fixtures.
Collaborates with other maintenance and facilities staff to develop and implement maintenance schedules.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, and general construction work.
Knowledge of and experience in applying paints, stains, and finishes.
Familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems for minor repairs.

High school diploma or equivalent, journey level accomplishment in the masonry and/or carpentry trades, at least 4 years related experience, or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
Safety-conscious. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces. Stamina for extended periods of physical activity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Proactive mindset in identifying and addressing maintenance needs.

The hourly range for this position is $25-$30 per hour.
Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
