About the role
- The Structural Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of the College's structures and fixtures.
- The ideal candidate is skilled in various construction and repair techniques, with a focus on both reactive and proactive maintenance.
- Applies paints, stains to interior and exterior surfaces, while also performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of buildings and fixtures.
- Collaborates with other maintenance and facilities staff to develop and implement maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, and general construction work.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying paints, stains, and finishes.
- Familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems for minor repairs.

- High school diploma or equivalent, journey level accomplishment in the masonry and/or carpentry trades, at least 4 years related experience, or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
- Safety-conscious. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces. Stamina for extended periods of physical activity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive mindset in identifying and addressing maintenance needs.

Compensation
- The hourly range for this position is $25-$30 per hour.
- Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
- The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
