About the role

  • You will work with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across the company to launch several new products and regularly experiment with our existing products to improve the end-user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable systems that support our merchant-facing products and services.
  • Develop features that enhance the merchant experience and drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless product integrations.
  • You care deeply about building high-quality software and take immense pride in your craft.
  • You take the initiative to identify commonalities between different problem statements and design appropriate abstractions accordingly.
  • You will own our core platform and help identify, prioritize, and execute on infrastructure opportunities to accelerate product development and maintain high levels of reliability.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and operating production backend or platform systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field)
  • You are comfortable owning and driving the development of both product and platform initiatives from scratch.
  • You have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
  • You are excited about working on a small team and helping us set the foundations for the company.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical fundamentals, the ability to navigate ambiguity and take ownership of projects from inception to completion.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $285k - $330k+

  • We are looking for an experienced platform-focused software engineer to join our Merchant Platform team in San Francisco to help build a scalable platform that will help power the suite of Parafin's financial offerings.
