About the role

Responsibilities
- Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including documentation, security control implementation, and system authorization activities
- Help prepare and maintain security documentation such as SSPs, POA&Ms, and security assessment reports
- Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and ISSOs to ensure security requirements are integrated into system designs
- Access to resources, training, and mentorship to support your professional growth.
Requirements
- Familiarity with RMF, NIST standards, and security best practices
- Active Top Secret clearance required
Nice to have
- CISSP certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus)
- Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and cloud security concepts
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, or DoD cybersecurity requirements

Skills
- Understands foundational security concepts, network principles, OS security, cloud threat protection, and compliance standards.
- Performs basic troubleshooting and monitoring under guidance.
- Project Summary
- This position will be 100% onsite in Quantico, VA.
- This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining system security controls in accordance with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and agency security policies
- Participate in security testing and vulnerability assessments, including remediation tracking
- Monitor system compliance and support continuous monitoring activities
- Assist in identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities
- 1+ year of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or related IT field
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- Understanding of core cybersecurity principles such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad)
Compensation
- At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.The targeted base salary range for this role is $68,000-$104,000 per year.
