About the role

  • Resolve complex eligibility, leave, and job transfer inquiries from employees and supervisors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit actions for hires, promotions, transfers, layoffs, and recalls.
  • Interpret and administer benefit‑related sections of collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Building on its history of innovation, Carpenter's wrought and powder technology capabilities support a range of next-generation products and manufacturing techniques, including novel magnetic materials and additive manufacturing.
  • Support RFPs, renewals, rate analysis, and plan design work with consultants and actuaries.
  • Maintain SOPs and process controls tailored to manufacturing environments.
  • Partner with global consultants and site leadership on renewals and ongoing issues.
  • Manage the corporate relocation program, including vendor invoicing and policy updates.

Requirements

  • Four- year college degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by Department Manager.
  • Must be technologically adept and able to work with multiple applications.

Nice to have

  • experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday, SAP, UKG, etc.).
  • Specific knowledge of Workday system is a plus.

Compensation

  • Support system configuration, testing, and communications planning for annual open enrollment.

  • Partner with union representatives and local HR teams to resolve benefit concerns and support grievance responses.
  • Conduct audits of vendor transactions, including leave claims, COBRA events, and new hire enrollments.
  • Provide insights to Benefits leadership on cost drivers and plan optimization opportunities.
  • Maintain dashboards for enrollment activity, leave trends, overtime impact, and wellness participation.
  • Carpenter's high-performance materials and advanced process solutions are an integral part of critical applications used within the aerospace, transportation, medical and energy markets, among other markets.
