  • In this role, you will work with a team dedicated to ensuring public services are provided promptly, efficiently, and safely.

Responsibilities

  • You will operate County equipment and vehicles to help construct and maintain roads and related structures.
  • You will also install and maintain roadway traffic control for construction zones in accordance with the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) and County procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Compensation

  • $21.75 - $34.50 hourly
  • Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
  • The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

  • One year of experience in traffic control, or traffic operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, or two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of roads
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Other Requirements
  • Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain an American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagging certification within six months of hire

  • Experience in a maintenance environment, including mowing, tree trimming, and/or weed spraying
  • Experience in concrete repairs/replacement and welding
