- We have an opportunity for a talented & ambitious electrical engineer to join us as our new Substation Engineer.
Responsibilities
- As our Substation Engineer, you will hands on with the technical support on both physical and protection & control (P&C) projects and will work closely with NV5 Substation Engineering leadership to ensure project success.
- Prepare conceptual designs and execution plans Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules Perform and document quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
- Prepare construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium and high voltage substation projects.
- Apply engineering design principles and practices including formulas.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the Substation/Power Delivery field.
- Ability to interpret and apply standards including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client standards.
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong preference for those with excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, great organizational skills, proactive and forward-thinking individuals.
- Knowledge of Protection and Controls design is a must.

Nice to have
- Experience with power system calculations (AC station service, DC battery sizing, and Voltage Drop/Cable Selection) is a plus.
- Experience with relay settings is a plus.
- Knowledge of substation physical equipment is a plus.
