- POSITION PURPOSE Assist the Head Coach in administering all aspects of the Men's Baseball Program in alignment with the College's values and NCAA Division III philosophy.
- This position is 0.93 FTE, working 1,934 annual hours.
Responsibilities
- With exceptional students, accomplished faculty and staff, and a fiercely loyal and growing number of engaged alumni, Whitman College continues to build on its national reputation for academic excellence as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.
- Assist in developing and implementing game plans, reports, strategies and on-field duties as assigned.
- Perform coaching duties during pre-game and in-game based on assigned responsibilities.
- Assist and lead all aspects of camps, clinics, tournaments, and other events that support the recruitment of potential student-athletes.
- Support and lead coordination of team events on campus and while traveling.
- Support and lead coordination of alumni and community programming.
- Develop positive, professional relationships with officials, league personnel, coaching colleagues, and administrative staff.
- Maintains a safe and inclusive environment for student-athletes by identifying potential hazards, modeling best practices, and ensuring timely reporting of accidents or concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level.
- Ability to throw quality on-field batting practice on a regular basis.
- be at least 18 years old with 2 years of driving experience and complete a driver improvement course, OR be at least 19 with 3 years of experience and successfully pass a motor vehicle report (MVR) check.
Nice to have
- Ability to throw competitive batting practice.
- Experience with baseball technologies, specifically Trackman and Blast Motion.
