  • Job Description: Working closely with the Accounting Operations team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing complex general ledger account reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • The Senior Accountant also prepares financial statements for ABA's for-profit subsidiaries, partnering with senior management to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • This role supports external audits for the American Bankers Association and its affiliated entities, serving as a key liaison with external auditors on audit and tax engagements, including federal and state tax filings for ABA and its subsidiaries.
  • Additionally, this position provides ongoing support for external audits across ABA and affiliated entities and assists with various accounting, reporting, and compliance initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Create and enter journal entries (ad hoc bank transactions) as required.

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred.

Compensation

  • $95,000.00 - $105,000.00
  • $70,905.00 - $99,300.00 - $127,695.00
  • Prepare the annual financial statement for ABA Retiree Medical Plans.
  • Prepare the monthly and annual financial statements for ABA Card.
