Sponsors, but it's cap-subject — you still face the weighted lottery (~61% per draw at Level IV). Good if you win; have a cap-exempt backup on your list.

H-1B wage level

the lottery is wage-weighted — each level is one more entry

Level IV · 4×
Level I$87,9011 entry
Level II$106,8912 entries
Level III$125,9023 entries
Level IV$144,8934 entries

This range already reaches Level IV — the maximum four lottery entries.

DOL prevailing wage, 2026-27 wage year · Software Developers (15-1252) · Ann Arbor, MI. Wage level is derived by USCIS from the offered wage, occupation and worksite; the occupation shown is inferred from the job title.

Employer immigration record

from this employer's Department of Labor filings

Green-card filing pattern in this occupation

Context, not a finding about this posting: of this employer's 5 green-card filings in this occupation, 100% were for a worker who already held the job.

Files H-1B transfers

11 transfer filings in the last year, covering 11 workers. Median labor-condition decision: 7 days. An employer that already files transfers is one that can take over an existing H-1B.

Sourced from Department of Labor LCA, PERM and prevailing-wage disclosure data. Employer matching is by name, so figures may be split across an employer's legal entities. Absence of a filing means none appears in our copy of the data, not that none exists.

About the role

  • Meet the Team The Auto Tagger team is the engine behind our data flywheel, responsible for translating petabytes of raw, multi-modal vehicle data into a highly curated library of critical driving scenarios.
  • Leveraging Pegasus logical layers, this team structures and catalogs findings into an observations database that directly accelerates development across autonomous perception, sensor fusion, and generative simulation testing.
  • Even if you don't meet 100% of the qualifications listed for this opportunity, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement event-detection algorithms over multi-sensor time-series data (ego kinematics, perception object tracks, lane and map geometry) using temporal logic, state machines, signal processing, and geometric reasoning in road-relative frames.
  • Build evaluation for the taggers you write: ground-truth sets, per-scenario precision and recall, failure analysis, and regression tests that catch quality drift.
  • Optimize taggers for scale and cost across petabytes of logs, favoring vectorized, distributed implementations over per-frame processing.
  • Demonstrated algorithm design on real-world sensor, time-series, or geospatial data, in areas such as perception, tracking, state estimation, prediction, planning, signal processing, or applied ML.

Requirements

  • By mining driving logs for long-tail events, we provide the foundational data required for safe autonomous trucking.
  • Experience with VLMs, zero-shot classification, auto-labeling pipelines, or embedding/vector search for scenario extraction.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation), and observability tooling (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with model serving frameworks such as vLLM or SGLang.

Nice to have

  • Strong Python skills, including NumPy, pandas, and SciPy, plus working proficiency in SQL.
  • Hands-on exposure to production data systems: distributed compute (Spark, Ray, or Databricks), a cloud platform (AWS preferred), and CI/CD.

Compensation

  • A competitive compensation package that includes a bonus component and stock options

Benefits

  • A competitive compensation package that includes a bonus component and stock options
  • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for full-time employees
  • Flexibility in schedule and generous paid vacation (available immediately after start date)
  • Company-wide holiday office closures
  • AD+D and Life Insurance
  • Combine rule-based logic with learned components (classifiers, embeddings, Vision-Language Models) where heuristics hit their ceiling, and make the call on which approach fits each scenario.
  • Own your taggers end to end into production: Python on Databricks/Spark, CI via GitHub Actions, and monitoring of both tag quality and job health.
  • Perks of Being a Torc'r
  • Torc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
