- General Summary This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hydraulic, friction and/or crawler cranes to lift, move, position and/or reposition heavy loads on a construction site.
Requirements
- H i gh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience.
Nice to have
- One (1) to th ree (3) years previous crane operating experience, preferably on heavy civil construction projects including bridges, highway, transit, and rail.
- Current NCCCO Crane Operator Certification, required.
- Experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers, preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
Skills
- Knowledge of rigging and load limits.
- Knowledge and understanding of various types of rigging equipment, basic hitches, and their applications.
- Know ledge and understa nding of standard hand signals and communications for controlling crane operations.
- Ability to calculate and determine appropriate lifting equipment.
- Ability to operate equipment within designated area with attention to detail.
- Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
- Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces.
