About the role

As a Director of Engineering, you will be managing a high-performing engineering org consisting of 3-4 squads of engineers covering our product value streams from our HQ in El Segundo, CA.
We have team members stretching from El Segundo to LATAM to central Europe.
This role will report directly to our VP, Engineering.

Drive hiring strategy and close top engineering talent
Partner closely with Product leadership to translate roadmap into executable engineering plans, including running prioritization and trade-off conversations
Competitive compensation packages designed to reward top talent

10+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years of leadership experience
5+ years production operations experience
Experience managing managers and engineers
Excellent communication skills
Expert hiring manager skills and experience
A well developed people management philosophy for managers and engineers
Experience supporting enterprise customers (Fortune 500 or regulated industries) with high-touch deployments and uptime expectations
Has directly owned performance management cycles, including coaching, leveling, and exiting underperformers

Agile/kanban project management skills
Commitment to understand, communicate and improve the quality of multiple teams
Humble, servant leader
Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones (e.g., US plus Europe or LATAM)
Preferred: experience scaling an engineering org through Series B to C growth
