About the role
- Reporting to the Supervisor, Payroll Services, the Pay & Time Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and readiness of time and pay data for payroll processing.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate employee time entries and pay inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to payroll processing
- Perform various time audits and reconciliations for US and Canada
- Support payroll readiness by ensuring time data is submitted, approved, and accurately reflected in Workday
- Process and support payroll cycles including Canadian weekly, semi-monthly, and quarterly Board of Director payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality
- Partner with Payroll, HR, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure alignment with policy and legislative requirements
- Perform analysis to support payroll validation, variance identification, and audit readiness
- Maintain and enhance process documentation, controls, and standard operating procedures
- Support compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and internal SOX control requirements
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in payroll and time administration
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices, including overtime, leaves, and CRA requirements
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain time and pay concepts clearly
Nice to have
- Experience with payroll integrations and end-to-end data flows
- Exposure to SOX controls and audit processes
- Experience supporting system implementations, testing, or enhancements
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
- Experience with US payroll is considered an asset
