About the role
- We're looking for an enthusiastic Associate Hardware Engineer to join our robotics hardware team.
- You'll work directly with senior engineers to bring up, test, debug, and refine the electronics that power our robots - from embedded communication buses to power systems and PCB assemblies.
- This is a hands-on role ideal for someone eager to learn the full stack of hardware development, from the bench to the board.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, bring-up, and validation of embedded electronics used in robotic systems
- Use lab equipment - oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, and DMMs - to test, measure, and validate circuit behavior
- Perform rework and soldering on PCB assemblies (PCBA), including component-level repairs and modifications
- Document test procedures, findings, and design changes clearly for the wider engineering team
- Collaborate closely with senior hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers on integrated robot subsystems
- We own the full robotics stack from high-performance hardware and robot systems to the infrastructure and state-of-the-art foundation world models that control our robots.
- Our robots are designed to be generalists capable of operating in complex, real-world environments and handling long-tail edge cases, made possible by our cutting edge research and end-to-end system design.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of I2C, SPI, and UART communication protocols
- Comfort using an oscilloscope, programmable power supply, and DMM for circuit measurement and debugging
- Hands-on experience with soldering and PCB assembly rework (through-hole and/or SMD)
- Degree (or equivalent hands-on experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
Nice to have
- Exposure to embedded C/C++ or microcontroller firmware
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
- Familiarity with robotics platforms, sensors, or motor control
- Prior lab, internship, or academic project experience involving hardware bring-up or test
