About the role

  • Drafting and negotiating domestic and international agreements and providing quick, concise, and high-quality legal advice.
  • Coordinating cross-functionally within Splitit to effectively craft deal strategies and to provide innovative advice for the business (including in the areas of payment services, merchant acquiring, and consumer finance).
  • Contributing broadly to global legal and regulatory matters at the intersection of technology, licensing, and payment/financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Splitit is seeking an experienced counsel with a passion for payments, tackling regulatory issues, and supporting Splitit's merchant and partner deals.
  • The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to our global business, sales, finance, and technology partners.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • 5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sophisticated technology transaction agreements, including SaaS and professional services agreements.
  • Experience working in the payments industry, including with financial institutions, card networks, payments systems, acquirers, issuers, or financial technology companies.
  • Experience with consumer lending, privacy, other compliance and regulatory issues, and general corporate matters.
