About the role
- Hiring Range (Commensurate with experience and qualifications):
- Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs environmental, pneumatic, and electronic control systems, including temperature controls, air handling equipment, pumps, air compressors, transmission lines, thermostats, and valves.
- Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs appliances, commercial cooking equipment, water fountains, exhaust fans, and facility maintenance equipment such as vacuums, pressure washers, and floor and window cleaning equipment.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of experience with HVAC, equipment maintenance, or a related field.
- Installs required connections for new equipment, including electrical circuitry as needed.
- mixes insulation compounds as required.
- Orders materials and equipment required for assigned work.
Nice to have
- Ability to communicate in American Sign Language.
- HVAC certifications.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Additional Position Details:
- The incumbent must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- The incumbent must be able to to work from ladders or scaffolding.

Skills
- Strong knowledge of equipment and tools of the trade.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and carpentry work.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and across University departments, outside constituents and groups.
