About the role

  • Pay Range Data We anticipate filling this position as a Research Engineer $97,000 - $144,000.

Responsibilities

  • Research and document new ideas and write new product specifications.
  • Develop application notes, white papers, technical reports, and conference and journal papers on innovative applications or ideas.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SEL products or solutions and a perspective of industry practices/trends.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' working knowledge of at least one of the following:
  • Experience with simulation software to analyze power system transients, load flow, and short circuit studies
  • Knowledge of power system analysis, power system protection and power system stability
  • Experience with analytical tool (Matlab, Simulink, etc)

Nice to have

  • Cross-disciplinary knowledge of:
  • Electric power systems and practices and philosophies
  • Utility automation and control systems
  • Utility grade communication schemes
  • Digital signal processing practices
