About the role

  • The position is scheduled for shift, from 7PM - 7AM.
  • As an Industrial Controls Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining our department goal of less than 1% equipment downtime while ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient workplace without compromising quality or the environment.
  • include troubleshooting and resolving machine and PLC issues, performing maintenance and modifications during downtime, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in utilizing PLCs as a troubleshooting tool within industrial environments, with the ability to write and modify PLC programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation, including flow meters, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and high-voltage switchgear.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced colleagues within the department.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Arc Flash regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with structured failure analysis methodologies such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Complete required documentation, computer entries, and maintenance reports accurately and on time.
  • Experience developing and modifying HMI screens for industrial control applications.
  • Skilled in installing, programming, and troubleshooting VFDs, servo drives, and other motor control systems.
  • Excellent electrical and blueprint reading skills.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical instruments such as volt meters, oscilloscopes, calibration signal generators, and decade boxes.
  • Foundational understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic mechanical skills to support multi-disciplinary troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
