A successful Model-Based Systems Engineer at ACI will: Develop and maintain SysML/UML-based models to support system architecture, behavior, interface definitions, and requirements traceability for ATAK plugins and core functionality.
Support system decomposition and definition of component-level interactions across ATAK plugins, core services, and TAK Server interfaces.
Collaborate with software developers, integration engineers, and program stakeholders to ensure alignment between modeled architecture and software implementation.
Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and design reviews as a representative of the systems engineering team.
Support verification and validation activities by aligning test cases with modeled requirements and scenarios.
Contribute to documentation deliverables, including interface control documents (ICDs), system design documents (SDDs), and modeling standards.
Design and implement network solutions, including LAN/WAN/VPN architectures and secure topologies.
Collaborate on multidisciplinary R&D projects, integrating scientific and engineering approaches.
Maintain technical documentation including system diagrams, configuration guides, and SOPs.

Translate stakeholder requirements into functional models that inform software development and integration plans.
Troubleshoot complex system and network issues, utilizing both hands-on diagnostics and automated tools.
Apply network security best practices to protect systems and data from internal and external threats.
Write scripts for automation and system management using Python and PowerShell.
