About the role
- This position is mostly on-site, with a requirement of being in the office 4 days per week and remote 1 day per week.
- About the Organization The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) is an umbrella policy and advocacy organization for nearly 200 groups in New York State.

Responsibilities
- We represent the collective interests of New York's diverse immigrant communities and organizations and devise solutions to advance them; advocate for laws, policies, and programs that lead to justice and opportunity for all immigrant groups; and build the power of immigrants and the organizations that serve them to ensure their sustainability, to improve people's lives, and to strengthen our state.
- Supports the development of internal advocacy department management tools and proactively supports the implementation of those systems.
- Leads logistics, planning and preparation for advocacy related actions, events, projects, and assists the planning and execution of state campaign events.
- Manages event and mobilization safety and security including but not limited to training and leading volunteers, coordinating with institutions and partners, and effectively communicating plans.
- Manages the inventory of physical and digital resources and logistical needs for the advocacy department Provides administrative support in various coalitions and the leadership council, under the direction of the Vice President of Advocacy.
- Supports additional duties as necessary.
Requirements
- A minimum of two to four years of experience in Advocacy and in office administration is a must, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and completing projects.
- Working knowledge of G-Suite, Asana, Salesforce, Eventbrite and ability to teach and learn new systems.
- Some evenings and weekends work expected (compensated accordingly) Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
- The ideal candidate must have an interest in immigrant rights and advocacy
- and will have experience with some combination of the following: events management and planning, office administration, data input and management.
Nice to have
- Ability to communicate in Spanish or French is a plus.
- Driver's license is preferred.
Compensation
- $62,938.00** **The NYIC has a transparent and equitable salary structure.
- Starting salaries for each position are set in advance with no room for negotiation.

- Plans the execution of organizational NYIC projects as needed, attends all major NYIC events, and participates in the planning and execution of organizational events and committees, Including the organization's annual statewide conference.
