Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Performs routine-to-skilled duties with maintenance and repair with construction, concrete, sidewalks, driveways, monuments, curbs, gutters, asphalts, lots, maintenance and repair of physical plant, public works infrastructure, and facilities.
- Vehicle Operation: Operates and drives Authority vehicles daily to and from work sites, transporting necessary equipment to ensure timely arrival and efficient completion of repairs.
- Administrative: Operates computer to create and access records, timecards and work orders, operates vehicles to work sites, attends meetings with departments and performs related duties as assigned.
- Critical Thinking: Work independently, critically reviews and translates project requirements, data and information to specify solutions or alternative practice in support of business objectives and strategies.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain hand and power tools, equipment common to the public works maintenance, building construction and maintenance trades.
- Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements: Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
- Applicants must maintain an acceptable driving record to operate Authority vehicles.
Requirements
- A valid California driver's license is required, along with strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Disaster service workers are required to participate in such disaster service activities as they may be assigned to them by their employer or law.

Compensation
- The hiring salary for the Maintenance Worker I is $25.68 an hour.
- The full pay range for the Maintenance Worker I is $25.68 - $29.95 - $34.76.
- Work performed on 2nd or 3rd shift is eligible for shift differential pay of $2.25 (2nd shift) or $2.50 (3rd shift).
