About the role
- Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned.
- Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and MRI eligibility.
- Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a radiologist, this MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
- Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
Requirements
- Other General radiology experience or MR experience Required
- Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification Required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or U.S. military Radiology General Procedures training program Required
- Administers contrast materials as required.
- Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by MRI procedure protocols.
- Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification Required
