About the role

  • Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned.
  • Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and MRI eligibility.
  • Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a radiologist, this MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.

Requirements

  • Other General radiology experience or MR experience Required
  • Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance (ARRT-MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or U.S. military Radiology General Procedures training program Required
  • Administers contrast materials as required.
  • Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by MRI procedure protocols.
  • Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification Required
