  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to employees across all levels to ensure awareness of safe work practices, proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and emergency procedures.
  • Regularly assess the training needs of employees and provide guidance and support for on-the-job training.
  • Create and maintain reports on safety metrics, including accident reports, training completion, safety audits, and compliance checks.
  • Maintain a current understanding of industry safety trends and new regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant.
  • Work with department managers to implement and monitor the effectiveness of risk controls, safety measures, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of workplace incidents as required by law, including tracking of injury and accident statistics.
  • Required Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, including internal staff, contractors and regulatory bodies.
  • University degree in engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze incidents and identify root causes.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and the ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.

Compensation

  • This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $80,000–$110,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

  • Monitor and ensure that workplace health and safety practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace environments to identify hazards and risks that could affect the health and safety of employees.
  • Work closely with management, HR, and supervisors to address any health and safety concerns and ensure safety measures are implemented consistently across all areas.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of health and safety on-site, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
