Responsibilities

  • As the Laborer, you will support skilled workers and perform manual labor to complete general construction tasks as a productive member of the STG construction crew in Alaska.

Requirements

  • First Aid/CPR training or ability to become certified.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screenings.
  • Responsible for reporting any incident, situation or activity that may affect the Company's ability to operate safely, ethically and profitably to the supervisor and the Company Safety Manager.
  • Maintain any required certifications mandatory by law or company policy.

Nice to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One-year experience in the construction field preferred.
  • Prior experience in Alaska's rural construction industry is preferred.
  • Rigger/Signalperson certification preferred.
  • Heavy equipment experience preferred.

Skills

  • All around knowledge of materials, terms, and practices in construction field.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to gain basic knowledge of rigging protocols and hand signals.
  • Ability to safely utilize electronic test equipment and other specialized tools in performance of duties.
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management.
  • Ability to actively listen and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic; ability to work with or without direct supervision.
  • Ability to participate in group meetings.
  • Ability to travel to remote places for work-related purposes (up to 100% of the time).
  • Ability to report to work consistently on time and work a flexible schedule, up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Ability to live and work with co-workers in close quarters and keep good morale.
