About the role
- This role contributes to media relations, content development, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement across multiple communications channels.
- Translate scientific and technical information into clear, engaging, audience-focused communications.
- Monitor media coverage, track communications performance metrics, and prepare reports on campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Primary Responsibilities Support public relations and communications initiatives that elevate IBHS research, programs, and resilience solutions.
- Develop written content for media relations, websites, social media, Member communications, employee communications, presentations, and events.
- Assist with proactive media outreach, media inquiries, and relationship-building with reporters and industry influencers.
- Support brand messaging, storytelling, and thought leadership efforts that increase visibility and impact.
- Partner with internal subject matter experts and external organizations on integrated communications campaigns and initiatives.
- Support Member and employee engagement efforts through effective communications and content development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Some evening and weekend work may be required to support communications initiatives or time-sensitive events.
- Required Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with media monitoring and communications tools such as Cision, Meltwater, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or multimedia production tools.
