About the role
- The Automation Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial automation and control systems.
- The Automation Technician II works in industrial and oil and gas environments and assists in ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in accordance with company standards and project specifications.
- Install and terminate control wiring for PLC panels, instrumentation, and field devices.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial automation and control systems.
- Install and maintain instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters.
- Maintain documentation related to equipment installation, calibration, and troubleshooting activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience working with industrial automation, instrumentation, or electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
- Familiarity with ROC800 & Allen Bradley PLC systems and industrial automation equipment.
- Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and loop calibrators.
Nice to have
- Technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology, instrumentation, automation, or a related field.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, ROC800, or similar systems.
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or oil and gas environments.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- H2S Awareness certification.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
Skills
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation system issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
