About the role

  • The EWS Blended Seminar Program provides Professional Military Education (PME) to Marine officers through a combination of resident and non-resident instruction.
  • The program is delivered in three phases consisting of an initial resident seminar period, a non-resident online seminar period, and a final resident seminar period.
  • The complete program is conducted twice during each Academic Year (AY).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience serving as a Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Operations Officer, or Primary Staff Officer at the battalion, squadron, or higher level.
  • Participate in faculty development, curriculum reviews, and professional development activities as required.
  • Successfully complete required faculty orientation and certification requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience utilizing Socratic teaching methodologies.
  • Operational planning or expeditionary operations experience within Marine Corps or Joint organizations.
  • Security Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret clearance (Tier 3 Investigation) required.
  • Part-time adjunct position.
  • Courses are generally delivered outside normal duty hours.
  • Faculty assignments vary based on regional enrollment and seminar demand.

Compensation

  • The Sergeant's School Seminar Program (5500) and Staff Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School Seminar Program (6800) are each 15 weeks in duration and are typically offered three times per year.
