About the role

  • UCT IT is seeking to fill a Systems Engineer II vacancy.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and architects systems and applications that support enterprise infrastructure and information security.
  • Performs architecture and design of new systems and applications.
  • Supports product evaluation and qualification of new technology and methodology to make recommendations.
  • Builds and maintains the department's applications and infrastructure to meet business requirements and secure standard operating system software.
  • Supports secure configurations as appropriate for systems and applications, including file transfer processes (SFTP, SSL) and web server configuration and operations.
  • Maintains day to day operations and security updates of systems and applications.
  • Supports unit governance and documentation.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation on system configuration.
  • You'll be met with opportunities to connect and collaborate with talented faculty, staff, and students across 1 2 colleges and multiple campuses, engaging in impactful work that makes a positive difference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Knowledge of information security principles, secure system configuration standards, and vulnerability remediation practices.

Compensation

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 to $80,648.
  • If you are selected as the final candidate for an employment opportunity, both your position and salary will be significantly based upon the information that you have provided in your application for employment.
