About the role
- To provide nursing care that is patient and family centered in an environment that exemplifies best practice and customer service
- Nursing care guidelines are based on the ANA Code of Ethics (1), Indiana Nurse Practice Act (2), Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards by which the RN provides patient care and shared leadership for the unit.
- Acute Care departments include: Medical Units, Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Unit, Childbirth Center, Pediatric Unit, Operating Room, Hibbeln, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, Cardiac Cath Lab
Responsibilities
- Manages time productively in the completion of duties and promotes cost saving through delegating assignments and use of proactive scheduling based on acuity and census.
- Practices accountably in accordance with the nursing process to provide optimum care, collaborate with the team, streamline processes, and elevate the patient experience.
Requirements
- Computer skills required.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to multitask, and provide complete documentation per unit and Hospital standards including critical situations and events.
- Applies evidence-based practice, maintaining knowledge of policy and
- Demonstrates proficiency in charge RN role, mentoring, precepting, and provision of leadership in the department and Hospital.
Nice to have
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required for employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, (BSN), preferred.
