About the role

  • As an IP Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the company's intellectual property (IP) strategy, including invention mining, patent drafting assistance, prior art search, and portfolio management.
  • You will work closely with R&D, legal counsel, and external patent attorneys to ensure the company's innovations are effectively protected and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D teams to identify patentable inventions and facilitate invention disclosures.
  • Maintain IP databases and generate regular reports on portfolio status.
  • Support IP litigation, licensing, and enforcement activities when needed.
  • Support R&D teams world-wide, including U.S. and China

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with patent systems in major jurisdictions (e.g., US, EP, CN).
  • Experience with patent search tools.
  • Ability to act as a "translator" between highly technical R&D engineers and legal/business stakeholders.
  • Experience in drafting high-quality invention disclosure forms and reviewing claims for clarity and breadth.

Nice to have

  • Patent Agent qualification or IP certification is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Mandarin is a plus.
