About the role
- As an IP Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the company's intellectual property (IP) strategy, including invention mining, patent drafting assistance, prior art search, and portfolio management.
- You will work closely with R&D, legal counsel, and external patent attorneys to ensure the company's innovations are effectively protected and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with R&D teams to identify patentable inventions and facilitate invention disclosures.
- Maintain IP databases and generate regular reports on portfolio status.
- Support IP litigation, licensing, and enforcement activities when needed.
- Support R&D teams world-wide, including U.S. and China
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with patent systems in major jurisdictions (e.g., US, EP, CN).
- Experience with patent search tools.
- Ability to act as a "translator" between highly technical R&D engineers and legal/business stakeholders.
- Experience in drafting high-quality invention disclosure forms and reviewing claims for clarity and breadth.
Nice to have
- Patent Agent qualification or IP certification is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- Mandarin is a plus.
