Responsibilities

  • One in three people in Denver turn to DHS for support at all stages of life.
  • Our employees help children, older adults, families, and individuals navigate social and economic pressures by connecting them to services and experts who support their overall well-being.
  • This program gathers essential donations for DHS and collaborates with the GIVE Center to deliver emergency resources to both the community and the broader agency.
  • Responsible for the support and development of the GIVE Donations program
  • Supports with the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Triage and support donors by assessing needs, routing inquiries, and ensuring timely coordination with appropriate staff or services
  • Support with general knowledge of budget tracking and monitoring of all GIVE funds and donation contributions
  • Support in collecting and organizing data reports
  • Conducts outreach presentations and trainings for external providers, vendors, and community partner to raise awareness on the GIVE Donations program and CarePortal platform
  • Oversee volunteer engagement and outreach initiatives, collaborating with community partners to support program goals and expand service capacity

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience performing intake including assessing and identifying client strengths and needs and providing referrals for assistance
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
  • Applicants for employment with the City and County of Denver must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Nice to have

  • Provide professional and respectful customer service to ensure strong working relationships with community-based organizations, individual donors and internal staff
  • Physically retrieving, sorting, counting, organizing, and distributing in-kind donations
  • Daily monitoring of multiple email inboxes as well as responding to all inquiries within the appropriate timeframe for each inbox
  • Triaging emails and redirecting requests received to the appropriate staff member as needed
  • Complete accurate data entry of monetary and in-kind donations into Donations Database
  • Currently possess a bachelor's in a Communications, Social Sciences, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with a customer-center focus and approach

Compensation

  • Support scheduling and calendaring for annual donation event project plans, community engagement meetings, community partner site visits, and volunteer shifts
