About the role
- - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- - 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
Responsibilities
- Lead (often cross-team) initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel camera's android application code.
- Collaborate with camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and reliability.
- Provide in-depth insights from advanced profiling tools to prioritize and validate improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience with Android application development.
Nice to have
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience shipping complex embedded software products.
- Experience with performance and memory optimization.
- Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device ML models.
- Experience with SQL and data pipelines.

Compensation
- US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
