About the role

  • The position exercises professional judgment in shaping messaging, advising on communication approaches, and ensuring information is effectively communicated to diverse audiences.
  • This position will actively advance the college's strategic goals, including achieving equity in educational outcomes and supporting a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and visual composition.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field with additional relevant experience.

Nice to have

  • Preferred: (desired but not expected to have to enter job)

Skills

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital and print media.
  • Familiarity with project management or ticketing systems (e.g., TDX).
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors for printing and production.
  • Ability to take initiative and propose creative solutions aligned with strategic goals.

Compensation

  • Visual Communications Specialist
  • Salary placement is dependent on education and experience
  • Classification: Communications Specialist 2
  • Unlimited, Full-time
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
  • Hourly from $29.25 to $42.94; Annually from $61,074 to $89,659
