About the role
- The Machine Operator's primary responsibility is operating production equipment, including punch presses, press brakes, folding machines, turret presses, saw drill boxes, flat bed lasers, Kuka lasers, tube benders, buffing lines, and CNC mills.
- Feed the necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
- Tend to the machine and product to ensure quality and proper operation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules and regulations.
- Support Dee Zee's environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste and acting on environment performance results & findings.
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be quality-focused and maintain an organized, safe work area.
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools needed.
- Ability to follow first-piece inspection and approval procedures prior to full production.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
- Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, protractor and other inspection tools.
- Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers.
- Effective communication.
Nice to have
- 1+ year of manufacturing and/or machine operation experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
