About the role

  • Information Management/Claims Processing - Review and respond to all unemployment claims.
  • Serve as district representative for Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), as needed.
  • Works in defense and settlement of claims against the district. - Prepare the documentation needed for unemployment hearings; including the coordination of witnesses.

Responsibilities

  • Support supervisor via recurring and nonrecurring tasks.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain employee records related to Workers' Compensation.
  • Assist with providing documents for Public Information Act Requests, subpoenas, etc.
  • Manage vehicle registration renewals.
  • Manage title transfer process for the purchase and sale of vehicles
  • Balance and maintain strict accounting of the various RM budget accounts including entering and reconciling POs, ADA purchases, office supplies, and the shoe program for facilities and security staff
  • Perform system operations including purchase orders, check requests, and financial data needed for unemployment requests.
  • Perform complex tasks involved in managing various programs, including but not limited to, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, Safety and Loss Control, and Auto Liability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • TASBO certification, or willingness to obtain within 2 years of entering the position
  • Handles sensitive/confidential information and/or data with a high degree of discretion
  • Thorough, with the ability to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively organize a daily workload by priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
  • Possess knowledge of Texas Department of Insurance - Division of Workers' Compensation laws and rules
  • Oversee and verify that required Workers' Compensation claim forms are processed in an accurate and timely manner to comply with state and federal filing requirements.
  • Manage District property replacement process, ensuring prompt payments are submitted upon receipt of all required documentation and approval from the supervisor.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, professional, capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks/projects in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.

Nice to have

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative support (required) and risk management experience (preferred), including workers' compensation claims processing.
  • Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Some college or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Adjuster's license or equivalent certification(s) preferred

  • Manage lost time Workers' Compensation claims for Payroll purposes and district leave accounting
