About the role

  • The salary range for this role is $115-$160k; depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership (Site/Civil): Lead the civil/site design on multiple projects for grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility systems (storm, sanitary, domestic water, and related appurtenances), ensuring constructability and code/criteria compliance.
  • Design Deliverables & QA/QC: Direct and review the development of construction documents (plans, profiles, details, and quantities), engineering calculations, and technical narratives/reports.
  • Permitting & Agency Coordination: Manage permitting strategy and submittals (e.g., stormwater/SWPPP, site connection/utility approvals, erosion & sediment control) and lead responses to agency comments. Coordinate with applicable agencies and utility providers
  • Project Management: Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk for assigned projects. Prepare and track work plans, staffing, and deliverable milestones
  • support contract change management and internal reporting.
  • Client-Facing & Team Leadership: Serve as a day-to-day client contact, lead meetings, and communicate technical recommendations clearly. Mentor and direct junior staff and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Business Development Support: Support proposals and interviews by developing technical approaches, scopes of work, assumptions, and fee estimates
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Technical Depth: Experience with green infrastructure/stormwater BMPs, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and utility conflict resolution in dense urban environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • Familiarity with NJ agencies and approval processes (e.g., NJDEP, SCDs, local municipalities) and preparing/responding to review comments.
  • Additional active PE licenses (multi-state) and/or ability to quickly obtain comity licensure.

Nice to have

  • NJ Agency Experience: Familiarity with NJ agencies and approval processes (e.g., NJDEP, SCDs, local municipalities) and preparing/responding to review comments.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • MicroStation and stormwater/hydraulics tools such as HydroCAD, Hydraflow/Storm Sewers, HEC-HMS, and/or HEC-RAS are a plus.
  • Licensure: Additional active PE licenses (multi-state) and/or ability to quickly obtain comity licensure.
