About the role
- The Cook prepares and serves nutritious meals as outlined on menus in accordance with applicable food service and safety regulations.
- The successful candidate will need to have weekend availability.
- The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job may prepare for special dietary needs of the residents
Responsibilities
- The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly, or on a relief basis, or has responsibility for the wise use of his/her own resources.
- Building on our roots as a world-wide Christian church, each year we help more than 2 million people, providing necessities such as food, clothing and shelter.
- In addition, we support people experiencing unemployment, addiction and family challenges.
Requirements
- The incumbent is required to lift more than 20 pounds.
- Cook's papers (1 year course)
- The incumbent must have the following experience before hire:
- The incumbent is required to travel up to 30% of the time.
Nice to have
- Adapts work practices within specific parameters to ensure the efficient delivery of food services
- Makes use of and decides on best use of resources, including donations to minimize waste
- Follows guidelines for the safety and security of food and equipment and monitors practices to ensure adherence
- May supervises students, volunteers and / or residents in work therapy
- May order food supplies
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School, plus specialized courses of up to six (6) months.
Compensation
- Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
