About the role
- Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software.
- We are looking for a motivated Inventory Control Specialist to join our team.
- This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and play a vital part in delivering state-of-the-art technology to the DoD.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, brokers, and transportation providers to support service reliability and cost efficiency
- Develop, monitor, and report transportation KPIs including on-time delivery, freight claims, detention, utilization, and transportation costs
- Coordinate outbound/inbound scheduling and routing to support Ops Deployments, warehouse capacity, and customer requirements
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, service, operational efficiency, and cost reduction
- Analyze transportation data to identify process improvement opportunities and support carrier evaluations, bid processes, and contract negotiations
Requirements
- Experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, preferably within the defense and aerospace fields
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Familiarity with government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR) is a plus
- Former military service is preferred but not required
