About the role

  • Global Citizen is seeking a Senior Vice President VP, Strategy & Business Development to work with Global Corporate Partnerships / Business Development Team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify, shape, and drive 2-3 transformational partnership deals to close each year - end to end, from concept to signed agreement
  • Design bespoke partnership structures from scratch: no templates, no playbook. Each deal requires an original business model built around a specific partner's strategic priorities and alignment with Global Citizen's strategy and mission.
  • Develop the investment thesis and partner-facing narrative for each deal - including financial modeling, value exchange logic, and strategic rationale.
  • Build and maintain a senior network of C-suite relationships across media, technology, and brand sectors to surface and advance opportunities
  • Partner Business Fluency Weighed 20 %
  • Conduct deep business analysis on prospective partners - understanding their P&L, strategic priorities, and competitive positioning well enough to identify value creation they haven't seen themselves
  • Lead multi-stakeholder negotiations, managing internal and external complexity across legal, finance, content, and operations
  • Serve as deal principal across the full lifecycle - aligning internal teams, managing partner relationships, and resolving deal-breaking issues as they arise
  • Partner closely with the VP of Partnerships on delivery of active agreements, providing strategic direction on complex decisions.
  • Ensure bespoke structures are operationalizable before close - bridging deal design and execution reality

Requirements

  • 10+ years in business development or strategy with a track record of personally leading and closing large, complex deals
  • Experience structuring bespoke, multi-million dollar partnerships - not managing a high-volume pipeline
  • Must be authorized for employment in the United States

Nice to have

  • content, distribution, digital, and/or brand partnerships
  • Executive-level communication
  • Exceptional analytical and commercial thinking - can model a deal and intuit its strategic risk simultaneously
  • Experience operating in a lean, high-autonomy environment without a large deals team behind you
  • Established senior network across media, tech, or brand sectors
  • Background in management consulting, investment banking, or corp dev at a major media company
  • Experience mentoring or elevating business development talent
  • The pace is high and the work is meaningful, making this a strong fit for people who bring initiative, adaptability, courage, and a deep commitment to driving real-world change.
