About the role

  • We are seeking a talented HR Specialist to join our team at Alcoa in Massena, NY.
  • This professional will execute tactical HR and administrative functions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor leave utilization trends, identify high‑risk indicators, and recommend corrective measures to HR leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR and plant leadership with document preparation, data entry, file organization, mailings, and routine audits.
  • Partner with IT and corporate HRIS teams on system enhancements, integrations, and cross-functional reporting.
  • Promote Alcoa's values and support employee relations activities related to development, D&I, ethics, and compliance.
  • Coordinate and help deliver employee engagement activities and training/development programs.
  • And within a two hour drive (or less) are cosmopolitan and historic Montreal and Ottawa, Canada to the north, and to the south are the tall, beautiful views of Adirondacks and within it is Lake Placid The Olympic Village.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business or human resources required
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • This role requires strong team collaboration, broad knowledge of business administration, and hands‑on experience with proven results in several of the following key responsibilities:

  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment with varying priorities.

Nice to have

  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR support, HR coordinator, or HR operations role preferred

Compensation

  • 76,700 - 115,400 USD annually
  • Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only.

  • Coordinate with external benefits vendors to resolve escalated issues and ensure service accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain workforce analytics dashboards (attendance and leave exposure) to inform operational decisions.
  • Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package.
